Why I'm Running
I'm running because I believe that Castlegar is at a crossroads. The choices we make at the ballot box in October will shape our community, and I want to give the people here another option. Castlegar should have optimistic, thoughtful leadership that brings people together, works to make life more affordable, and strives for a stronger and more resilient local economy.
In my work with non-profits and in the tourism industry, I have firsthand experience with the valuable public services and community programs that so many of us depend on. I see this election as an opportunity to give back to a community that has supported me and to put the skills and experience I've developed over the years to work for the people of Castlegar.
Through volunteering in and organizing political campaigns, I've come to understand that public leadership means showing a willingness to balance priorities that can sometimes seem to be in conflict. Good government depends on listening to people who see things differently, asking difficult questions, and having the courage to change your mind when the evidence points toward a better path. My goal is to help bridge those differences and find solutions that make our community stronger.

Importantly, I'm running because I live here too.
I've seen some of the incredible things our community can do when the people here come together. Sometimes it's something as simple as saying hello to a neighbour on a walk, sharing a smile at the grocery store, volunteering for a cause we believe in, or stepping up when someone in our community needs a hand. These moments may seem small, but they are what make our community feel like home.
Our city has enormous potential. Together we can work towards a community that is more affordable, more prosperous, and more connected without losing sight of what makes this such a special place to live. We volunteer. We show up for one another. And when it matters most, we make sure no one gets left behind.
That's the Castlegar I believe in and that's the Castlegar I want to help build.

The Platform
Born in Castlegar and raised in the Kootenays, I've spent my entire life connected to this city and the communities around it. After studying Canadian government and graduating from UBC, I built my career in the tourism and hospitality industry, helping share the beauty of British Columbia with people from around the world. More recently, I've worked in the non-profit sector, helping deliver programs and services that support members of our community, including seniors, women, low-income families, and youth.
My experiences have given me an appreciation for both what makes our community special and the work it takes to make it better. I've had the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life, learn from the challenges they face, and see firsthand what can happen when people come together to support one another. In my personal life, I enjoy sports, games (especially chess), and the outdoors.
Ultimately, I want to work towards a Castlegar that every family who calls this place home can be proud of.
